I've heard they are talking about your request at the Admin Building. The problem is that they aren't sure who's responsibility it is.

It's not the city's problem. The people who run beacon.schneidercorp.com need to update their link to http://www.ci.nevada.ia.us/pdf/ZoningMap10252005-1.pdf

Or the City of Nevada could upload the zoning pdf to the location specified on the Beacon site.

Wouldn't the City of Nevada have to have administrative privileges on the Beacon website to make changes? I doubt they have that. They can't just upload PDF's to someone else's website, unless it's specifically designed for external access & changes. The changes would need to be made by Beacon.

The City of Nevada needs to contact Beacon to have them update their link.

That would be the case if the link pointed to the Beacon website but as you can see, from my original post, the link points to the City of Nevada site.

BSB, you're correct, but you got that link from the Beacon website. The city of nevada can't be charged with keeping old files around due to other sites linking to files that are no longer there.

The city changed the file URL, so Beacon should update it's links accordingly.

It's how the internet works.

How do you know the city changed the file location?

My money is on the City not uploading the file to the location they told Beacon it would be.

It's how the City works.
