Default Funtastic Days

In addition to their great peaches and cream sweet corn, Grimes provided something else this year. Their Funtastic Days was a nice small town fair, but seemed to have all the rides and attractions you'd only find in a much larger city. Grimes looks like it's doing well in competing with the other Western suburbs for a great safe place to raise a family.

Anyway, if you'd like you may check out pictures from this event at my photoblog, linked below.

I'll definitely be going again next year, but possibly without camera so I can have some fun.

That first one is neat....the girls running toward the fun..kind of sums up a carnival. No. 10 is cool, too, with the slow shutter. Keep 'em comin', Epic.

I believe it was July 6th through July 8th. I couldn't find much information on if this event just started or if it's an annual event that I just haven't heard of. I found it through the calendar at www.seedesmoines.com, otherwise I wouldn't have never known.

The Des Moines Register has a events calendar, the state puts out a state wide events book.

The biggest problem is that the local people in charge of events do not plan ahead, they don't realize that these things should be planned and published as soon as the last one ends.

You'd think that they'd be on top of this to attract the largest turn out they can. But then again the organizers might be just volunteers with little interest above making sure the event sustains itself for yet another year.

Pics turned out really good Epic. I like how it's set out in the grass. You don't see that anymore.
