Are you certain that stuff is grown in Grimes? That is a long way to drive to sell sweet corn.

I always figured "Grimes" was a family name.

I know people who drive by the sweet corn fields near Grimes every day. They use plastic covering to get a very early yield.

Yeah, you can watch video about Grimes sweet corn at whotv.com. Some family (I forget the name) grows hundreds of acres of sweet corn and sells it to vendors, in central IA, who in turn sell it for a profit. The corn is transported and sold as far away as Cedar Rapids, according to the whotv video clip.

I talked to someone in Ames who was selling produce at a "Grimes" stand this summer. She told me that her boss bought the veggies from various vendors in the Grimes area.
