Default Gas prices

How much cheaper is gasoline at Sam's Club compared to other Ames' stations?

I heard that today it was 10 cents per gallon less.

It depends but normally I find it is about 2 cents less.

For Boone it seems Madrid, Slater, and Polk City almost always have cheaper gas than in Boone. Usually by about $.10 less.

Ames gas prices generally seem about the same/maybe $.01 cheaper than Boone's gas.

Usually, Des Moines is 10 cents cheaper than general Ames stations, 15 cents cheaper than the ones on the interstate and about 8 or 9 cents cheaper than Sam's Club. I say usually because though it was $2.43 yesterday in Des Moines, it jumped overnight to $2.55. It was creeping downward while Ames all stayed at either $2.59 or $2.54 for a couple weeks. So Ames will probably jump.
As an aside, I went through Manson a few weeks ago and it was even cheaper...Like $2.33!!! The nice lady at the place said, 'yup, we keep it cheap so people come out of their way'.....little too far for my usual route, but good to know!

It amazes me how Ames is ALMOST ALWAYS a dime or more higher than Des Moines, Ankeny, and even Huxley...

Not like they have to pay any more than a station in Huxley does for the fuel, just more profits for their nice little monopoly here in town!

It is called TRANSPORTATION. If the Ames stores and the Des Moines stores both get their fuel from the Des Moines area, guess who pays more to have the fuel delivered to their station?

BS. Pure BS.

How many gallons does a fuel tanker truck carry? 9000 gallons. So lets say it takes 10 gallons of diesel fuel to get to Ames (old truck, horrible mileage...) and 2 hours of the drivers time (slow and stopped for DOT check). So $30 in fuel and $50 in driver's time, lets round up to $100 in total expense to cover wear and tear on the truck driving 60 miles round trip. That means the 9000 gallons incured an extra .01 in cost. If you factor in that Ankeny, Huxley, and Slater all are priced a dime or more lower, what is the new excuse?
