Arrow Who has the best hot wings in Ames?

Super Bowl Sunday is getting closer so I better figure out where to order hot wings.

I'm not a hot wings fan myself (at least not the 'hot' part). But I have a couple of friends that make entire meals out of the hot wings from Cafe Northwest.

It must be an addiction. They're sweating from the 'heat' but they don't stop--Hot wings junkies.

I had some wings last year at a place called Wings to Go (in west Ames).

They had many many different 'flavors' and heat levels. The wings we ordered were pretty good but I must agree for the 'standard' hot wings you can't beat Cafe Northwest.

Default wings

When I went to ISU (and still today) I try wings at almost every place I go that has them.

Wings are probably my favorite food.

So my vote for the best wings in Ames are boneless wings from Wallabys or for on the bone wings, Peoples Bar and Grill. No contest on either one.

My 2 cents

Wallabys boneless wings are awesome. I hate getting the gristly part off of the bone. But if you don't mind bones, Cafe Northwest has excellent wings. Make sure you order medium instead of hot. In the old days anyway, the medium were hotter and had better flavor. I've never tried People's wings, so I can't comment on those.

I would have to give a second place trophy to Okoboji Grill on South Duff for their hot wings.

Had them this weekend and they were great!
