Oh yeah, Boone Blank - I was trying to remember the name of that. And I loved Tradehome shoes and Osco drug was pretty cool too. Oh, I have to add Big Bear to the list too - I still preferred it to Orschelin.

And Alco was more expensive than Pamida I thought, but I still liked both of them. And would rather shop at either than Wal-Mart if I had a choice here in town.

Forgot about Pamida and Big Bear-How could I forget Big Bear-My husband was lost when that closed down. They always had everything you needed for the farm it seemed.

Randalls Grocery Store:
They had a walk-in cooler in the back where they kept cold beer that had “Big Mouth bottles with those peel-off tops” I don’t remember what brand it was but boy was it easy to drink.

I think it closed about 1990, I had long since moved from Boone,

My husband says there also use to be an A & W on the east side of Boone of Mamie-Anyone know anything about it?

A&W was on Mamie across and a little west from the Eastern star home, it closed in the mid 70's. The Elvis impersonator bought the building and sold satellite dishes from there.
