Question where to eat

Any recommendations for a restaurant in the Tama/Toledo area?

"Big T" Maid Rite near the intersection of highways 30 & 63.

King Tower, along the north side of highway 30 at the east edge of Tama.

Both places are a step back in time to the traditional small-town diner. Not real pretty to look at, but good food cheap.

Of course there is the enormous buffet at Meskwaki.

Does anyone know if Zeno's Pizza is still open out on the highway?

I've been to King Tower. It's been there forever. Huge menu.

The place kind of reminds me of Snack Time in Nevada and Country House near Colo.

I'd be very surprised if they get many first-time customers from people just driving by and looking for a restaurant. I thought it was an aged hotel the first time I saw the building.

I have a gift certificate to use at either Tremont on Main or Tremont Grille or Tremont Sports Page.

Which do you recommend for the best food?

We were hoping to eat at Zeno's tonight. Anyone know if they're open?

Had dinner at Tremont on Main last week. I thought it was excellent. The chef (owner too?) visited with us a few times at the table and answered any questions we had about the restaurants and Inn.

The Tremont Sports Page has been replaced with an Irish bar.

Got off the bypass last weekend at Tama/Toledo. The sign on the pole by the road said Mike's.
