I would like to see such things as hours, services provided, menu's, special events and sales. Contact numbers, directions and web site information would be helpful also. Maybe they would like to add a little history of the business or something special that sets them apart from others in the same type of enterprise.

I wonder if including customer reviews would be helpful or incendiary? Thinking about the George's Pizza thread in the main Nevada community right now, for example, threads like that I think could be useful to residents and visitors (and potentially the business, if they're looking for some unsolicted feedback about their performance).

I think it would be a great way for local businesses to say a little about themeselves...especially those businesses that have been here awhile and only a few select people know about or for people to refresh their memories. Also could be a great venue for them to solicit a special event they are having or sales (like at holidays). I think it would be great to have customer reviews but could be easy for people to "gang" up on a business as a whole or an individual employee.
Could also be a great directory for glurbers to utilize so we can keep business local, we can consult this first before giving up on finding it local and heading to Ames. I have wondered countless times if we had certain things in town that I needed and didn't know where to find it and headed to Ames because I know where to find it there. Just a few thoughts.

I think it should be content (like jmmather mentioned above) created by the businesses themselves.

It would be nice to have a central location for businesses to post their hours of operation. It would be much easier than looking up their phone number and calling them just to find out that they're closed and they didn't disclose their hours on their answering machine.

Okay, I'll be the guinea pig.
My husband Mike and I have an office located at 1229 S. G Ave. in the lower level Suite 103. We are a part of Primerica which is a financial business. We help with debt reduction, mortgages and investments, and insurance. We have been at this location since the first of this year. If you have any questions, or would like to know more about what we do, please call us at 515-450-1769. Thanks, Cali A. Smith

Primerica is also a division of Citi corp. I sat though the initial consultation and found that while they work on trying to help you, they are also trying to recruit through you. Friends, family etc can all be 'agents'.. in way its a 'legal' multi level marketing racket. However they may also provide a useful service to some people.

Personally, I am glad i didnt go with their services... others might have better luck, and in the case of the friend of the family that I talked to, while she was hoping to make money by getting more people signed up, in the end it wasnt profitable for her to continue with it.

Not only that, but all the meetings you had to attend.. really reminded me of the amway type of thing..

I would like to see a central location for all available real estate in the area.

Thumbs up

Hello.

It looks there should be multiple sites up and running soon that will suffice as online directories for Nevada businesses.
