Thumbs up Prairie Meadows buffet

Hands down this is the BEST buffet I have ever been to.

I have eaten there multiple times and the quality and selection is fabulous!

It's about $9.50 (including tax) for the lunch buffet.

I've never been, but have always heard good things. I am putting that one on my list of places to go.

I too have heard this was awesome. I went into Prairie Meadows' website but could not find anything about it. Well, other than superficial things like prices and stuff. Momma, can you elaborate a tad? Like... ummmm... are there views of the track, can you watch racing while you eat, is it way upstairs, what all is on the buffet, and stuff? Thank you.

peace out. ironman

I went there again yesterday and it is pound for pound and dollar for dollar the best place I've eaten in Iowa.

It's not the cheapest meal (but it is pretty low priced) and it may not be the absolute best cuisine but it is incredible.

ironmanx72, the lunch buffet has everything from broiled fish to chicken, to ham, to beef. The salad and dessert bar were 70 feet of freshness!

I tried the meat loaf yesterday and I loved it. I read that it is pricier for supper but they up the ante' with prime rib and shrimp (on different nights).

You can't watch the races from the buffet but you won't miss it while you're in there. By the way, it's on the ground floor.

I ate there yesterday and Steve Berry (left, in photo) was enjoying the all you can eat buffet too.

I ran into Nevada High School's former principal at Kohls then, about a half-hour later, at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
