Question Where to lunch?

I'll be in Ankeny during the lunch hour on Friday.

Where would you recommend for a $10 or less lunch?

Any cuisine is fine.

Default where to eat...

nice that no one responded! where did you end up eating?

i have a suggestion for you whenever you're back in ankeny. have you tried bandana's? it's BBQ and VERY good BBQ. one thing that i like about bandana's is that they have good turkey there. other places serve a lunch meat type. these are actual, smoked chunks of turkey. delicious!!

tip: get the luncheon plate. it's the same size as the dinner plate but the dinner plate is just marked up on price.

you won't be let down!!

Thank you for the recommendation.

I had tried Bandanas (http://www.glurb.com/local/showthread.php?t=110805), and I definitely liked it.

Do they serve the luncheon plate in the evening too?

What's your recommendation for a steak restaurant?

they most definitely do serve the luncheon plate any time of day!!

regarding steak, i don't know of anything in ankeny, but............

for steak you definitely HAVE to try rube's out in waukee. it's a place where you cook your own and it will definitely cost you some big bucks, but to go once is definitely worth it. when my husband and i went there we both had ribeyes and we spent $80. (that's including the tip). BUT - - all of the sides are "all you can eat" which is AWESOME. we are total foodies. they have baked potatoes, another kind of potato, salads, beans, potato salad, etc. you must go! and let me know how it went!

another place we recently ate at but i'm afraid will be shutting down, is caffrey's. it's in WDM, right off the freeway. it's at the corner of 22nd & University. it's in the same parking lot as toys r us. you can cook your own there or have them do it. they also have "all you can eat sides". pretty good place.

but - - what takes the cake is iowa beef steakhouse. things might've changed since i've been there last...it's been a few years...but they do it well there too!
